I keep production systems running and explain them to the people who depend on them. At CND AG that means Linux servers, container services and monitoring stacks across a range of customer environments. Most of that work is unglamorous: watching the metrics and logs closely enough that a problem becomes a ticket instead of an outage. A fair amount of it is writing and talking, too. The people paying for a system want to know where it stands in plain language, not in graphs.

The other half of the job is removing work that should not be manual. I build backend services and automation in Python, Rust, Shell and PowerShell. The last two years have gone mostly into AI tooling: getting it into operational workflows, and teaching it at the FHNW to an audience with no technical background. I also lead infrastructure projects end to end, from scoping the work with the client through to handover, which in practice means keeping the customer, the vendors and our own engineers working off the same plan.

Alongside work I am studying Computational Linguistics at the University of Zurich, where I also taught programming as a teaching assistant. Outside of it I run TTRPG campaigns, host Magic events, and keep a few open-source projects and small web tools alive.

Systems Engineer & Project Manager

- Operate and monitor Linux servers, containerised services and monitoring stacks across customer environments, and cut downtime by catching problems in the metrics and logs early.
- Run the customer-facing side of that work: scope and progress reporting, written handovers, and turning what the systems are doing into something non-technical stakeholders can decide on.
- Build backend services and automation in Python, Rust, Shell and PowerShell, and integrate AI tooling into day-to-day operations.

Monitoring & operations

DIY Tracker

A concert platform listing DIY shows across Switzerland, widely used in the country's underground music scene. I built and run the whole thing: development, deployment, monitoring, bot detection and server hardening, all on my own infrastructure.

Dungeon Master's Vault

A maintained fork of the DungeonMastersVault community edition, self-hosted on my own hardware for my ongoing D&D 5e campaigns. Small, but it has users who notice when it is down, so it gets treated like anything else in production.

On-site IT support for participants and organisers, and hands-on work keeping the event network up for the duration.

Regular Magic events and TTRPG sessions, which in practice is scheduling, logistics and chasing people for an answer. I also help out at local events when extra hands are needed, usually on registration or tech.
